Bile acids. OV. 2,2-Dimethoxypropane: an esterifying agent preferred to diazomethane for chenodeoxycholic acid.

چکیده
Artifacts formed by methylation of chenodeoxycholic acid with diazomethane are identical to the synthetic 3alpha- and 7 alpha-monomethyl ethers of methyl chenodeoxycholate. The extent of formation of these artifacts with time has been studied. No detectable artifacts were found with 2,2-dimethoxypropane as the methylating agent.

Urinary bile acids from a 3-mo-old boy with cholestatic jaundice were analyzed by ion exchange chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). This suggested the presence of labile sulfated cholenoic acids with an allylic hydroxyl group, a conclusion supported by analysis using fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry (FAB-MS). The compounds detected by FAB-MS were separated by ...

متن کاملDetermination of serum bile acids in hepatobiliary diseases by gas liquid chromatography (fasting serum bile acid levels and endogenous bile acid tolerance test).
The methods and results of a gas-liquid chromatographic analysis of bile acids in serum are presented. The analysis of bile acids in serum involves enzymatic hydrolysis (cholylglycine hydrolase), preparation of propionated methyl ester derivatives of bile acid and gas chromatographic procedure with 2. 5 % OV-1. Adequate separation of the individual bile acids, (cholic, chenodeoxycholic and deox...

There is strong evidence from metabolic epidemiology correlating the incidence of CRC in populations with high FBA concentrations and the carriage of bacteria able to degrade bile acids (Aries et al., 1969; Reddy & Wynder, 1977). Case control studies have proved equivocal and the reasons for this have been discussed by Hill (1981). Several studies (Narisawa etal., 1974; Silverman & Andrews, 197...
